The story
Long before the white man, a Yoruba kingdom is owned by whoever holds the àdó, the spirit of the town sealed in a small gourd. When the king falls on a stone step, the town is told the river people of Odi killed him. His brother takes the crown. His daughter says out loud what she knows, and is driven into the forest with the one man who was in the room that night: her father's hunter. The gourd on her neck is the town. Without it, the town begins to die. She learns the bow, stops running, and the forest, which belongs to Ògún, marks her as a hunter. At the mountain of white cloth the old god asks her the only question that matters: when you have him, what will you do?
